Our journey and inspiration

For over ten years, I have worked with people with disabilities, constantly seeking ways to make a deeper impact in their lives. The discovery of spelling to communicate offered not just comfort, but an opportunity for profound growth. It opened my eyes to the incredible potential within individuals with speech difficulties, showing me they could not only grow but thrive. I learned to challenge my own preconceptions, realizing the immense pain of being intelligent yet treated like a child. While I understand why loved ones might underestimate someone, I am dedicated to showing them another path—the empowering path of spelling.

Expertise and accreditation

I am an accredited Spelling to Communicate practitioner, having received my certification from the International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC). My experience spans numerous spellers, from young children just beginning their journey to adults finding their voice later in life. Each success story reinforces the belief that everyone deserves the chance to express themselves fully and authentically.

Our unique, grace-filled approach

My background as an educator and support worker has given me deep insight into the challenges faced by nonspeakers. I understand that traditional settings can be unsettling. At With Grace Communication, I approach each speller with genuine grace, meeting them where they are today. Building a trusting relationship is my priority. My aim is for each session to be a positive experience, fostering a sense of control and self-motivation. While balancing regulation and comfort, I gently encourage spellers to push past perceived limitations, believing that consistent practice leads to significant growth and profound self-discovery.
